Introduction
SafeHands is a Case Management
System. Records of patients to be case managed are entered
on to the SafeHands Central
Management System. This information is then synchronised
to mobile units for use by Healthcare Professionals. Patient
consultation information is added by the Healthcare Professionals
using the mobile unit when making a patient visit. This information
is later re-synchronised with the Central Management System.
- The mobile unit is a light, powerful tablet pc running Windows XP.
- Touchscreen functionality facilitates the quick and intuitive
use of the SafeHands system by a Healthcare Professional
whilst on a patient visit.
- Once on the database the information is available to
both service and clinical managers for analysis and reporting
and to members of the team of Healthcare Professionals
when making future visits.
The SafeHands Case Management
System improves the management of patient care:
- By providing the Healthcare Professionals with appropriate
care pathways for their patients.
- By providing the Healthcare Professionals with a medical
reference library to which the latest local treatment protocols
can be added.
- By providing detailed, up to date, patient information
available to Healthcare Professionals wherever and whenever
needed.
- Through the rigorousness of patient data collection that
a system approach imposes.
- Through system analysis and powerful reporting, facilitating
the monitoring of each Healthcare Professional’s performance.
SafeHands significantly reduces duplication of work by Healthcare
Professionals whilst greatly increasing the quality of operational
and statistical information for Managers. |
